This is the first child for the couple, the third for Kimmell from previous marriages. Kimmell and McNearney began dating in 2009, got engaged in an African safari and got married last July. Kimmel said, as reported on TVGuide, "I've really forgotten everything. It's funny because I was with [John Krasinski and Emily Blunt] who just had a baby and I was like, "Oh yeah, there's a new way to do things." Kimmell's children are Katie, 22, and Kevin, 20. He added, "I told my daughter, 'Listen, there's only so much love I have to give - you're going to have to split it up with the new kid. There's a finite amount of love and that's that.' So they're dealing with it, but it is very weird at my age. I'm going to be one of those old dads." He made the announcement on Ellen's show, in deadpan, "I'm having a baby... with Ellen," much to the audience's delight. He added, "No, I decided to have the first one with my wife," in a report on eOnline. He then went on a tutorial, saying, "You know, it's disgusting the way babies are made... There's so many human body parts involved. Did you know that eggs are in us? That's gross, just to start with." As for holding babies, Kimmel said, "There are new ways to do things. You hold them by the front of the neck now..." As for the name, Kimmel already has a couple in mind, as reported on Celebuzz. He said, "I think the name Karate. I think Karate Kimmel has a great ring to it. I like to, you know, the Kardashians with the two K's thing. You know, it's nice."
